Shelley Peterman Schwarz is a best selling author, columnist, and radio/TV personality. Her story, Judy's Birthday, earned first prize in A Second Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul.
She is a community expert on ShareCare, an interactive Website co-created by Dr. Mehmet OZ; has served on Wisconsin's Governor's Committee for People with Disabilities and the State Rehabilitation Council; Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Manufactured Housing Association's "Tomorrow's Home Foundation;" and Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Wheelchair Recycling Program; and Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Over the years Shelley has been recognized for her achievements and received numerous awards for her efforts on behalf of people with chronic illness, disability, and aging limitations. Some of her awards and achievements include:

Shelley is determined to find a solution to any problem she faces. As she states, "I don't intend to miss out on my life or the lives of my family and friends because I can't use my legs or my arms. I still see myself as a teacher and problem solver. Perhaps I can help others see challenges in their lives as obstacles along the way, not insurmountable problems."
