Working with a Disability

Do you have a chronic illness or disability and wonder what or when you should tell your employer? Do you struggle in the workplace because the office set up or equipment is difficult for you to maneuver? Are you facing having to quit your job because the hours are too long, the work to strenuous, or physical obstacles are too challenging for you? Have you lost your job due to illness or disability? Or do you want to work but need a little training or help finding a job?

Working with a disability is admittedly more challenging than working without one, however there are laws and support agencies in place that can help you get the  training you need to get a job, retrain you if you lose a job, or help you find the accommodations you need to continue working in the job you already have.

This section will help you create an accessible office, whether at the workplace or at home, fill it with labor saving technology that will enhance your ability to work, and find assistance when you need to talk with your employer, fund work place accommodations and training, or when you can no longer do your job. If you do not find the information you need in this section, please email help@MakingLifeEasier.com or start a conversation on our Blog.

"In order that people may be happy in their work, these three things are needed: They must be fit for it. They must not do too much of it. And they must have a sense of success in it."  ~  John Ruskin
