If you use a wheelchair or painful conditions make it difficult to get up and down, try planting flowers and vegetables in raised beds.

Use lumber, deck ties, or stone blocks to create a  raised garden about 34 inches high that will be easy to reach comfortably. The bed can be any size, however a maximum width of  4 feet is recommended.

If built of lumber, consider adding a flat top piece at least 4 inches wide to serve as a place to lay tools or to sit while gardening.
